The EBRD aims to play a leading role in shaping the impact of digitalization in its regions over the next five years. Therefore, the EBRD Advice for Small Businesses team can help MSMEs to accelerate their digital transformation and EBRD Digital Barometer is the first step of this journey.

The EBRD Digital Barometer is the first step in this journey.

The EBRD Digital Barometer has been incorporated by KOSGEB into the European Enterprise Network's work in Türkiye and supports work to increase the digital maturity and capacity of SMEs in cooperation with both organisations.

What is the European Enterprise Network (EEA)?

KOSGEB is the national coordinator of the Single Market-COSME Program, which the European Union is implementing for SMEs between 2021 and 2027. One of the main tools of the Single Market-COSME Program is the European Enterprise Network. Türkiye has been a member of the Enterprise Europe Network, which is currently active in nearly 80 countries, since 2009. Currently, 10 consortia with 54 partners, consisting of the public sector, universities, technology-oriented organisations and chambers, continue to work as an important part of the European Enterprise Network structure all over the world, covering the whole country.

In addition to supporting the internationalisation of SMEs, the Enterprise Europe Network also carries out various analysis, guidance and evaluation activities on the digitalisation of enterprises, which is one of the most important issues of today.

Let’s start with the first step to define your priority list and needs:

About the EBRD

The EBRD (European Bank of Reconstruction and Development) is an international finance institution that was founded in April 1991 to 'foster the transition towards open market-oriented economies and to promote private and entrepreneurial initiative'. The Bank is owned by 71 countries including Türkiye, as well as the European Union and the European Investment Bank.

Apart from financing the private sector, the EBRD provides advisory support to Micro- and small-medium-sized companies (MSMEs) in a wide range of areas, from strategy to operations, quality management, financial reporting, energy efficiency and more. The EBRD’s local consultants and international experts introduce the latest best practice, helping MSMEs become more competitive and grow.

MSMEs needs access to know-how, network and skills to help them innovate and succeed. In addition to today’s challenging economic conditions, factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic have pushed MSMSEs to a serious need for digitalisation. However, digitalisation is a complex process for many MSMEs.

Within the scope of its MSME advisory programme, the EBRD has developed the "Digital Barometer" tool to help MSMEs identify the challenges of their digitalisation journeys and provide guidance through the EBRD Digital Barometer road map, mentoring, training, and advisory services.
